Edelman and CIC, a Chinese word-of-mouth consultant, have released a white paper on what large numbers of Chinese are saying about health care. (ex Matthew Hurst). This is a big datamining effort that picks up the comments on blogs and message boards. (press release). The idea is to give health industry companies insights into what Chinese consumers are thinking and saying.
Think of the other areas where datamining and machine-based analysis could help us see important trends. I’d like to track references on Iranian blogs and message boards to the United States and President Ahmadinejad. Who’s up? Who’s down? We should probably assume that dataminers at the National Security Agency are working on this type of analysis.
